Hello, from BYL! Even in October this year we never would have imagined we would end 2015 owning a bakery! Kelly says she finally got a standing desk and a job that smells like chocolate chip cookies! All joking aside, December has been an amazing month including some interesting learning experiences (if you have come in looking for “the bread” you know what we mean). We are so very excited about the future of Benefit Your Life. We have some exciting plans in the works for 2016!
As we move into the future, this will be the BYL mission: We shall try our very best every day to change lives for the better through greeting with a smile, offering help and advice, offering encouragement, supporting our local community and helping people to eat delicious, high quality food and to create a more simple natural life.
As 2015 comes to a close, we are so thankful for our customers who continue to support the bakery, encourage us with your kind words, and partake in our yummy baked goods! Please refer your friends, family and coworkers. We need YOUR help to get the word out about our awesome little bakery, AND gluten free doesn’t have to be tasteless and bland. Gluten free (as BYL has proved) can be absolutely delicious!
Happy New Year from the entire BYL team! We wish you a blessed 2016!
Eric and Kelly Barger
Outside the Breadbox
This is “the bread” I mentioned above. We apologize we have been out of stock of the Outside the Breadbox Vegan Oat Bread during the holidays. With the busy holiday shipping schedules, UPS, even with expedited shipping, could not guarantee delivery of this fresh product. BYL and Outside the Breadbox bakery mutually agreed we could not ship a product with the risk it would not arrive fresh. We plan to place a BIG order during the first week in January to restock our freezer. We are hopeful, if UPS deliveries are back to normal, we will receive a shipment on January 8. You may want to call the bakery to double check. We will have an update on shipping schedule by January 6. Thank you for your patience in this matter as we realize that many of you are out of your favorite bread!
Special Event - Juice Therapy Class with Nicole Fey
Join us Monday, January 18 from 1:30 - 3:00pm* for a fun health event! BYL is hosting Nicole Fey, certified holistic health coach and author, to discuss juicing. We thought a health and juicing class might be a good fit for the new year!
The cost for the lecture and a delicious juice drink is $25 per person. Please call the bakery at 865-288-3193 to reserve your space. Event fee is due on sign up and is refundable through January 14. Space is limited. The event fee is due at time of reservation.
Nicole will be signing her new book,
The Ultimate Juicing & Holistic Health Program
at the bakery immediately before and after the class. Copies of Nicole’s book will be available for purchase at the bakery. You are welcome to drop in immediately before or after the class for a book even if you cannot attend the class.
Don’t know about juicing? Come join us to learn if juicing may be right for you! You can read Nicole’s article, “10 Signs You Need a Cleanse” at
*Moms and caregivers, the class schedule will allow you to leave a little early if you need to leave before 3:00pm for school pickup.
We are adding a feature story to the newsletter to share information about the latest gluten free research and products, health related topics, sustainable/green living, natural living, etc. Stay tuned!

Hello, from BYL! December 1 was a big day here! It marked the start of new ownership and an amazing adventure! We are very excited to build upon and grow the business Rhoni and John Speed have built for the last few years. We were customers long before we decided to purchase the bakery. It is a wonderful place for us to enjoy a gluten free, allergy friendly treat. With multiple food allergies and sensitivities, we get it! We hope we can provide help and support to others struggling with food allergies, food sensitivities, special dietary requirements, and food-related health problems. Even if you do not have any food restrictions, BYL is just an awesome little bakery and market, AND the food is delicious! Read More…
